Richard (Dick) Jackson passed away early August 2022 while still serving as a Board Member for the Tulsa Children’s Coalition. Dick was integral to the origin of the Tulsa Children’s Coalition and served as the President from 2000-2011.
Dick was a graduate of UCLA with a degree in Anthropology. He worked in various management positions at Rockwell International, and in 1978 his team brought in the first computer-aided engineering and manufacturing system. Mr. Jackson retired from Rockwell in 1988, and from paid employment in 1991.
This began his exciting 25+ year volunteer career at Community Action Project of Tulsa County, Inc.. Service at CAP Tulsa included playing a leading role designing a process focused on claiming Earned Income Tax Credits for residents of the Tulsa area with lower income levels. This program was so successful, it became nationally recognized as a model for other organizations to utilize in their own income tax preparation services.
The Board of The Tulsa Children’s Coalition, along with the staff of Community Action Project of Tulsa County, Inc., sincerely appreciate the depth of Mr. Jackson’s knowledge, passion, and devotion. He will be missed.
